A Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) uses an arrangement of pulleys and bands to achieve an unlimited variation between the highest and lowest ratios. Unlike conventional automotive transmissions, CVTs do not employ a graduating arrangement of fixed gear ratios to deliver power transmission.
