Brake Fluid Flush

Scheduled Maintenance

WHAT IS IT

The process of exchanging old hydraulic brake fluid with new fluid.

WHY DO IT

Brake fluid is hydroscopic, which means it attracts and retains moisture, which causes rust to form inside braking system components. ABS system components may also be subject to internal corrosion and damage which may lead to component failure. New brake fluid has a boiling point of 205 C (400 F); moisture in the system dramatically reduces the boiling point, which under hard braking may cause brake fade and increased stopping distance.

WHEN TO DO IT

Every 60, 000 km.
